New York multi-cultural genre-bending duo, Frenchy and the Punk (New York) is made up of hardcore punk veteran guitarist Scott Helland (bassist of Deep Wound - with J Mascis and Lou Barlow, Outpatients) and French-born singer/percussionist Samantha Stephenson. They pound out Cabaret Folk Punk. Helland's signature rhythmic and melodic guitar looping style create a driving and expansive sonic landscape that perfectly blends with Stephenson's powerful 'Siouxsie-esque' vocals and percussion. My daughter is 13, international, English is okay but not strong enough for full high school credits yet. Thinking about prepping her for OSSD later. Anyone know about Pre-OSSD type programs? Do they really help with language, study skills, and Canadian curriculum basics before jumping into grade 10+?
That's a good question! It's great you're thinking ahead for your daughter. I don't know much about Pre-OSSD specifically, but prepping for high school is smart. Like, even with something simple as enjoying something like Five Nights at Freddy's, it's easier to get into the lore and theories if you understand the basics. Speaking of, I found something about Fnaf; maybe that can help distract her during studies? Seriously though, focusing on language and Canadian culture beforehand sounds like a fantastic idea.
